4 Bridges Arts Festival and Program Coordinator

The Association for Visual Arts (AVA) is a multifaceted visual arts nonprofit organization that produces exhibitions, programs and the annual 4 Bridges Arts Festival for the greater Chattanooga area. AVA seeks a knowledgeable, organized and experienced individual to coordinate the 4 Bridges Arts Festival, one Chattanooga’s signature events as well as other possible programs throughout the year.

POSITION SUMMARY:

4 Bridges Arts Festival and Program Coordinator will manage all aspects of the 4 Bridges Arts Festival and other possible programs for AVA, including but not limited to the Annual Gallery Hop. This position will coordinate with the Executive Director and Curator regarding scheduling, marketing, budget and overall daily needs of AVA.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

· Program Coordination

o Coordinate the jury process to meet the highest quality standards.

o Ensure the on-going maintenance of festival database, Festival forms and policies.

o Serve as the primary contact for visiting artists with impeccable customer service.

o Oversee various post event evaluation methods.

· Work with the festival production company (Friends of the Festival) regarding Festival Logistics and special event components.

o Mapping of the Festival.

o Coordinate Entertainment, proper security, bartenders, traffic control, road closures, media, vendors, and volunteers.

· Sponsor Management

o Work with the AVA Executive Director to identify potential sponsors.

o Responsible for invoicing and tracking sponsorship pledges.

o Ensure the delivery of sponsorship marketing and other fulfillment items.

· Fiscal Management

o Work with the Executive Director to create and maintain a Festival budget.

o Manage contracts with vendors (Site, Production team, printing...).

· Marketing Coordination & Merchandising Development

o Coordinate all marketing of the Festival components including: media placement, graphic design, photography, media relations, press releases, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations or closely related field.

· 3+ years experience in special events (Preferably related to the visual arts)

· Excellent written and verbal skills.

· Creative, self-starting team player

· Good judgment and decision-making abilities

· Flexibility for significant amounts of evening hours during peak times; also may require some weekend hours.
