Marketing Communications Coordinator- Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce

We’re looking for a talented communicator and designer to support our Marketing Communications team through creative design and writing for the web. With guidance from the marketing team, this individual also helps manage the Chamber’s social media based on established voice and style guidelines, with potential to independently manage our social media once they’re acclimated.

The successful candidate can take direction from written and spoken ideas and convert them seamlessly into clean copy and attractive, on-brand visuals. They’re friendly and easy to get along with, detail- and deadline-oriented and organized with the ability to independently juggle multiple projects in a relaxed team environment. They offer stellar work samples and ideally hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Essential Functions:

 Conceptualize and design creative assets for a range of media (about 50% of role)

o Could include logos, event branding, programs, brochures, marketing materials, infographics, annual reports, tradeshow layouts and more

 Draft social media posts and collaborate with other Chamber staff on content (about 20% of role)

o Monitor social media engagement and trending topics

o Handle sponsored posts for programs and initiatives

o Post live during major events

 Writing and editing, including copy associated with social media/design projects (about 20% of role)

Other duties as assigned (about 10% of role) that might include:

 Directing photo shoots

 Performing photography duties

 Providing administrative support such as uploading web content and tracking meeting RSVPs and media impressions

 Representing the marketing department at internal and external meetings as needed

 Supporting other marketing communications work depending on skillsets and the team’s needs

Required Qualifications:

 1-2 years of relevant experience, which can include internships

 Excellent design eye

 Highly competent in InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator  In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms  Exceptional proofreading skills  Effective writing ability

Other Helpful Experience:  HootSuite, Google Analytics, Facebook advertising and understanding of SEO

 Video editing/production including experience with Adobe Premiere

 Podcast editing/production

 Photography
