Blue Monarch provides a long-term, residential and therapeutic Christian community for women and their children to break adverse cycles and rebuild their families.


As the Director of Parenting and Children Services, you will be vital in helping Blue Monarch's residents become more effective parents to their children in a nurturing, Christian home. You will be responsible for helping Blue Monarch provide a rich, educational and safe environment for the children we serve. This position requires a patient individual who possesses strong parenting skills. Each function requires attention to detail, multi-tasking, problem solving, and the ability to work well independently or on a team. This position works very closely with the Program Director, Christian Counselor, and Resident Case Manager. The program staff is small but works as an effective team with constant communication and group decision-making.

• Conduct one-on-one sessions with mothers to discuss parenting issues

• Conduct parenting assessments

• Coach mothers regarding healthy parenting skills

• Schedule and facilitate children’s activities

• Promote Bible reading for mothers and children

• Teach parenting classes (Love & Logic, 1-2-3 Magic)

• Promote healthy diets for mothers and children

• Encourage mothers to participate in their children’s school work and parent teacher conferences

• Schedule tutors and mentors for children

• Assist in coordinating and managing resident daily schedules and appointments

• Provide necessary reports to DCS

• Work with DCS regarding custody and visitation issues

• Attend court dates for residents and serve as court advocate when needed

• Coordinate visitation for non-custodial children

• Facilitate positive relationships between mothers and their children’s caregivers

• Assist residents in tracking progress and reaching personal parenting goals

• Collaborate with Program Director and Resident Case Manager to handle disciplinary issues and enforce rules

• Participate in any necessary discharges

• Schedule and facilitate mother/child field trips

• Attend all mandatory Blue Monarch events


The hours for this position are primarily Monday through Friday, hours ranging from 9 to 5 and 10 to 6, in order to adequately provide the services needed. The hours are established to assist with parenting issues after children come home from school. Occasional weekend duty may be required.
