Agency Relations and Programs Manager

This position works closely with member agencies to increase capacity, maximize hunger relief efforts and promote nutrition in assigned region. This position is also responsible for orienting all new agencies and monitoring all agencies and programs in assigned region to ensure compliance with USDA and Feeding America requirements. Territory is Hamilton County.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work with Director of Agency and Gov’t Relations to assess the current capacity of agencies

• Develop and implement programs to increase agency capacity with the goal of improving nutrition and client services

• Act as the primary liaison for agencies including providing orientation and training, recruiting new agencies, and responding to questions and requests for support from agencies within the assigned territory

• Collect and analyze data to assess community needs and measure current program operations against Feeding America’s distribution standards assigned to our region

• Work closely with the senior management team to design and implement programs and strategies to increase distribution throughout the service area

• Effectively communicate all CAFB, Feeding America and USDA policies and requirements to member agencies

• Conduct routine visits to monitor whether agencies are in compliance with all relevant policies

• Maintain all agency and program files in accordance to Feeding America and USDA standards

• Work with community leaders and agencies within the service region to identify community-based solutions to increase food distribution and community capacity to feed the hungry, including organizing community meetings and helping leaders identify strategies and programs to meet their unique needs

• Create and deliver presentations to encourage community support of our programs and mission at meetings hosted by service organizations, schools and other opportunities throughout our service area.

Professional Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Service Related Field or seven years nonprofit experience is a plus

• Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully verbally and in writing on many levels with diverse audiences and constituencies

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Computer competency with all Microsoft Office products

• Possess high-level decision making skills

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to meet all physical requirements of the job (occasionally lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs, moving pallets up to 2,000 lbs, etc.)

Special Requirements:

• Dependable and reliable attendance record

• Comply with all CAFB policies and procedures

• Driver’s license with good driving record

• Ability to travel overnight for conferences and trainings

• Attend staff meetings and outside work-related events as appropriate

• May be required to work overtime periodically
