Since 1954 Bethel Bible Village has provided safe, nurturing and Christ-centered homes for children of families in crisis. Bethel Christian Academy (BCA) is a small, non-public Christian college preparatory school, providing a smaller classroom environment for students who have fallen behind and may need smaller classes. We serve primarily the 7 – 12 grade students who live at Bethel Bible Village and the school is located on campus.
Bethel currently has available a part time paraprofessional position to work in the high school approximately 15-20 hours per week. This is a temporary position expected to end in May 2019.
• Spiritual: Be an active participating Christian in a local congregation.
• Education/Licenses: High school diploma required. Associates degree preferred.
• Specific Skills: Experience working with youth who may have academic and behavioral concerns required. Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and previous computer experience required. Experience working in the field of special education is preferred. You will work closely with the teacher in your assigned classroom and support them in their duties. Flexibility is key for this role, as your tasks may change from day to day. Typical activities include working with students in groups and individually during lessons and creating progress notes and reports. The ideal candidate is caring, compassionate and dedicated to the students’ success. They have a versatile skill set and a willingness to proactively look for ways to support the teacher.
• Other Requirements: Must have a valid driver’s license. Applicant must be lawfully authorized to work in the U.S., and successfully pass a background check, drug screen, and physical.
