Position Description:

The Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce seeks a Program Assistant to handle a range of administrative, presentation and relationship management functions for the Chatt 2.0 initiative.  The position is responsible for planning and coordinating the logistics of meetings, projects and presentations and must be able to write and edit effectively in styles ranging from light marketing materials and presentations to preparation of meeting summaries and business case statements. In addition, the successful candidate will have a proven track record of building positive collaborative relationships with a variety of stakeholders ranging from colleagues and peers to civic, organizational, and governmental leaders.

Teamwork and providing outstanding customer service are daily activities for all Chamber staffers.  The successful Program Assistant is a highly-organized, detail-oriented person who thrives on a fast-paced atmosphere where working on many projects simultaneously is the norm and priorities can change suddenly. Excelling at the position requires the ability to quickly anticipate and respond to Chattanooga 2.0 administrative needs and requests.

Applicants must have a minimum of an associate’s degree in communications, business or related fields, plus two years’ applicable experience in a similar position, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office is essential, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  A working knowledge of design software such as PhotoShop, In Design, Illustrator, etc. and basic photography is desired but not essential.  Experience in communicating via various social media platforms is an added benefit in the performance of the position.
