General Description

The Men’s Ministry Director is responsible for planning, leading, and growing the men’s program as a vital, well-integrated component of the overall Choices mission and vision—including, but not limited to: establishing and maintaining positive, healthy relationships with clients; delivering quality services to clients; recruiting, training, and coordinating volunteers; and building and maintaining effective partnerships with related external ministries and service providers.  This full-time position is multi-faceted and offers an individual a rewarding opportunity to minister to many young fathers, potential fathers, and couples in need of the love of Christ.


The Men’s Ministry Director works under the supervision of the Client Services Director.



  • Committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and is accountable to a local, Bible-believing church
  • Due to the nature of this program, applicant must be a father with ample life experience and demonstrated Christian maturity to warrant credibility as a mentor/coach
  • Unwavering commitment and dedication to life and God’s plan for sexuality
  • Agreement with the Choices Mission, Vision, and Statement of Faith
  • Passion and heart to reach out to expectant fathers and other men
  • Ability to effectively share the gospel
  • Proven lay counseling capabilities and excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • A self-starter with initiative as well as ability to exercise wisdom in the conduct of duties and responsibilities
  • Teachable spirit and functions well in team environment
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to interview, assess placement of, and train potential volunteers
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Outlook, and the Internet
  • Flexibility in scheduling for occasional evening appointments or workshops, along with flexibility for unanticipated or unusual situations
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus


  • Deliver quality services to clients
    • As the face, hands, and feet of Jesus Christ, do all things in love
    • Serve as mentor/coach/advocate for men and couples to promote and protect a culture of abundant life
    • Maintain a strong, balanced presence at the Choices centers to make connections with male clients who walk through our doors
    • Meet with male clients one-on-one (first-time visitors, returning prospective clients, and those who are already in the fatherhood program)
    • Meet with client couples in the parenting program (e.g., Earn While You Learn sessions)
    • Teach fatherhood related classes and facilitate support groups
      • Create, review, adapt, and/or add to the educational curriculum as needed
  • Coordinate ministry volunteers
    • Recruit new volunteers
    • Orient, train, coordinate, mentor, and supervise male volunteers (male client advocates/mentors)
  • Manage external partner relationships
    • Network with churches and other organizations in the community to identify and develop opportunities for volunteer recruitment as well as enhancement of services through referrals and cross-ministry partnerships
  • Support Choices activities , programs, and center operations
    • Perform administrative duties to maintain and/or develop the program, as well as supporting other Choices programs when needed
    • Partner with the Outreach Director to design and develop public relations and marketing materials for the men’s ministry
    • Handle additional duties as assigned by the Client Services Director; partner with other staff members as needed to achieve the overall Choices mission and vision
    • Participate as a fully engaged team member at Choices’ major events (required by all staff)
