DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR - THE AUSTIN HATCHER FOUNDATION FOR PEDIATRIC CANCER

The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer is a national non-profit located in Chattanooga, TN whose mission is to erase the effects of pediatric cancer and optimize each child’s quality of life. We are recruiting a dynamic Development Coordinator who will implement, coordinate and manage regional cost-effective fundraising activities as well as assist to recruit, train and manage an effective volunteer base of community leaders to assist in meeting fundraising goals. This position will also have direct oversight over specific event-related activities including the management of vendors and partners to ensure flawless execution and measurable financial results. The position will be responsible for expanding the Foundations community and national presence through use of regular social media and other marketing communications output.

Core Responsibilities

  • Evangelize the mission of the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer
  • Be an advocate for families dealing with the effects of pediatric cancer
  • Look for new innovative ways to provide care for families dealing with the effects of pediatric cancer
  • Assist development team in activities related to programs
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Specific Responsibilities

  • Identify partners for Chattanooga regional events
  • Manage all event-related relationships with partners, vendors, promoters and staff
  • Collaborate with staff to create stimulating event presentations and activities
  • Manage the logistics of therapeutic programs associated with fundraising events
  • Build strategic relationships to benefit the organization
  • Oversee all event planning activities including, but not limited to estimating, budgeting, scheduling, logistics and operations
  • Recruit, orient, train, and monitor performance of volunteers to organize events that meet or exceed the established fundraising goals.
  • Develop strong networks within the local community, cold call or develop and grow prospects for potential revenue streams, event sponsorships, volunteer opportunities and brand awareness
  • Manage and provide leadership to volunteer committees on each event to ensure that committee members are fully supported and accomplish tasks required for successful events
  • Work with media to secure local sponsorship for events to heighten public awareness and reach fundraising goals.
  • Manage the overall budget and schedules of assigned projects in collaboration with other personnel and third parties
  • Maintain a comprehensive project matrix indicating project status and budget directives
  • Negotiate with all contractors, vendors, event partners to offer the best, and most cost effective results
  • Develop, implement and maintain a social media presence for all AHF events and functions.

Requirements:

  • BA or BS degree or equivalent 1 to 3 years proven track record in event based fundraising
  • Experience working with high profile accounts
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent team building skills
  • Social media guru
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to walk, bend, hear, see and lift 25 pounds
  • Ability to work weekends, mornings and evenings based on event schedule
  • Regional travel
