QUALIFICATIONS for this Position
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a nonprofit or for-profit leadership position with demonstrated success in strategic planning, financial management , marketing, fundraising, public relations, personnel management, and community involvement
• Significant demonstration of experience in relationship building with a variety of stakeholders including multi-cultural communities
• Demonstration of interest and engagement supporting the role of arts in community development
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4 year university required with a Master’s or higher preference; Preferred: Business, Liberal Arts/ Fine Arts
The President of ArtsBuild is the key ambassador and representative for the organization and responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight of day-to-day management and operation. The President reports to the Board of Directors and primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
OPERATIONAL LEADERSHIP – Leads the development, implementation and updates of ArtsBuild’s strategic plans to ensure operational excellence. Leads an effective management team and fosters a work environment that encourages and rewards commitment, maximizes staff engagement and ensures team building and development. Leads to ensure our ArtsBuild mission is inclusive of a wide diversity of partners and stakeholders-- from individual artists and arts organizations to school classrooms and administrators, to contributors and governmental entities.
ADVOCACY– Represents ArtsBuild professionally and dynamically in local, regional, and national communities. Helps build the long-term reputation of the organization by engaging in strategic public policy advocacy to advance ArtsBuild’s mission. Collaborates with the Board Chair to support strategies to ensure ArtsBuild attracts, motivates and retains members of its Board who effectively fulfill their governance responsibilities and are committed to achieving the mission.
REVENUE GENERATION – Ensures consistent and sufficient revenues, both earned and contributed, to fund ArtsBuild’s operations and long-term sustainability. Ensures ArtsBuild’s operations comply with the bylaws, organizational policies, and federal, state and local regulations.
