Manager of Development, Programs, and Operations- The Caring Place

The Manager of Development, Programs, and Operations is a full-time, senior staff position reporting to the Executive Director with responsibility over the three primary areas of Development, Programs, and Operations. Responsibilities include marketing, grant writing, development of new funding models, human resources, strategic planning, development of program areas, and general organization operations. Collaboration with Executive Director and Board of Directors is expected within this role.

• Development

o Volunteer Recruitment and Recognition

• Oversee the recruiting, screening, interviewing, and general orientation of volunteers

• Keep the executive director informed of volunteer recruitment plans

• Develop periodic and annual events to recognize and show appreciation for our volunteers

o Develop and update marketing resources, including but not limited to brochures, summary sheets, website, and social media

o Keep The Caring Place known to the local community by attending outreach and community events as needed

o Coordinate fundraising events

o Coordinate food and clothing drives to increase in-kind support

• Programs

o Provide direction to the area managers for The Caring Place service areas of Food Distribution, Clothing Distribution, and Sac Pac

• Operations

o Supervise and evaluate direct report staff

o Oversee areas of financial management

o Produce special data reports as needed in written and graphic formats

o Maintain the Organization Resume and organization structure

o Oversee maintenance and repair to facility and all equipment

o Maintain schedule and compliance of all ongoing facility care needs as well as required inspections and permits to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws

• Human Resources (all areas)

o Review resumes and interview prospective employees

o Be central focal point for changes in employee benefits. Recommend to Executive Director when there is a benefit change to consider

o Maintain the Employment Manual and other policies and procedures

o For all employees

• Provide and ensure completion of new hire paperwork for all employees

• Update personnel folders with leave requests, performance reviews, pay changes, etc.

• Enter staff leave into shared calendar

• Update employee information in QuickBooks for proper pay and leave balances

• Release, collect and transfer payroll hours to bookkeeper

• Maintain active and inactive employee files

• Others duties as designed. This is a dynamic role that is intended to adapt to meet the needs of The Caring Place as the agency moves forward

• Preferred Qualifications:

o Must support the mission and vision of The Caring Place

o Master’s Degree in Social Work, Non-profit Management, or related field or equivalent experience

o Must have strong writing skills

o Must have strong presentation skills

o Must have strong interpersonal relations skills and possess strong communication abilities both face-to-face and over the phone

o Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
