Communication and Operations Coordinator- Public Education Foundation

The Public Education Foundation’s Innovation Hub is seeking a dynamic and highly organized individual to serve as the Communication and Operations Coordinator. The PEF Innovation Hub delivers world-class professional development opportunities for public school teachers in Southeast Tennessee through a variety of programs including STEM Fellows, Teacherpreneur, Policy Fellows, Volkswagen eLabs, Fund for Teachers, and more. The Communication and Operations Coordinator will drive all hub-related communications and will assist with programmatic operations. The Communication and Operations Coordinator will report to the Director of Innovative Learning and will work in close collaboration with the Instructional Development Coordinator.


Communications (70% of time)

• Capture, develop, and share impact stories across various platforms (social media, website, newsletters, etc.)

• Leverage excellent writing skills to create engaging content that appeals to diverse stakeholders

• Assist hub staff in developing content (including proposals and reports) for current and future funders

• Assist with the development of audio and video content for multi-channel story telling

Operations (30% of time)

• Collaborate with hub staff to assist with coordinating logistics for professional development and other hub events

• Organize internal communications and operations

• Maintain the hub’s internal and external calendars

• Manage the Technology Lending Library

• Assist with the compiling of reports and program data for partners as needed

• Participate in partner meetings and create/distribute meeting summaries as directed


• BA or BS degree required, preferably in communications, marketing, or public relations

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Demonstrated ability to operate across multiple platforms, including social media marketing, web-based content management, and print media

• Flexible and detail-oriented, with strong project management and organizational skills

• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends as needed

• Passion for public education and equity

• Graphic design experience in the Adobe Suite (particularly InDesign and Illustrator) and video editing experience preferred but not required
